Following is a small sampling list of colleagues, authors, and healing practitioners whom I have found inspiring, insightful, and deeply committed to doing good work in the world. Perhaps you may find their work valuable, as well.
Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., is author of many best-selling books, including Minding the Body, Mending the Mind. One of her current projects/passions is The Spiritual Mentor Training Program (SMTP) and its parent company, the Claritas Institute for Interspiritual Inquiry, which she founded with her husband, Gordon Dveirin. “Claritas is the radiant light of understanding that comes when our veil of separateness dissolves and we intimately embody the unfoldment of the Good that is Spiritual Guidance. SMTP is dedicated to regaining this vital sense of wholeness and its spontaneous expression.”
Bernie Siegel, M.D., is a retired surgeon, author, speaker, and founder of Exceptional Cancer Patients (ECaP) Center. He has been one of the pioneering advocates for individuals facing the challenges of all chronic illnesses. He and his wife, Bobbie “introduced the concept of individual and group therapy based on "carefrontation," a loving, safe, therapeutic confrontation enabling everyone to understand his or her healing potential.” Love, Medicine and Miracles is one of his many insightful books on body-mind healing.
Jack Canfield & Mark Victor Hansen, co-authors of the mega-bestseller Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Amazing fellows, both, in their dedication, determination and contributions to making this world a better place. Each of them has countless ever-evolving projects, from books to seminars to humanitarian efforts that are worth following.
Caryle Hirshberg, co-author with Marc Ian Barasch, of Remarkable Recovery: What Extraordinary Healings Tell Us About Getting Well and Staying Well, continues to add to the growing body of work that supports the power of the mind-body connection in healing. I very often recommend this remarkable book to my clients, as a source of inspiration and education, and hope .
John Welshons, speaker/author of several heart-opening books, including Awakening From Grief, is founder and president of Open Heart Seminars, an organization born in 1981 dedicated to enhancing spiritual education and awareness in our society. John has compassionately helped many people working with a terminal illness, as well as the loved ones who are suffering from a death that has happened, or is imminent.
Meredith Young-Sowers, is co-founder, with husband Errol Sowers, of The Stillpoint School of Integrative Life Healing. Meredith’s teachings are based on her many years as an intuitive healer, through which she has learned that “physical pain and problems subside as the emotional and mental imbalances are shifted and the power of your own connection to Source/God is more fully awakened.”
West Wind Flags, (France Robinson, Owner) West Wind's mission is to increase kindness, healing and peace. They offer a beautiful array of prayer flags in English, peace flags, rainbow flags, and healing flags, in addition to traditional Tibetan prayer flags. They also offer garden statues and other items that can help transform your yard into a garden sanctuary. Many of WW's items grace the grounds here at The Healing Sanctuary, and I can personally attest to the quality and integrity of this wonderful company. All flags are made by a family in Nepal, from the highest quality 100% cotton. Check them out at http://www.westwindflags.com.
